WW2 GERMAN EARLY FIRST PATTERN SS OFFICERS SWORD

WW2 German SS Officer’s Lion Head Sword.

Early SS officer's sword by HORSTER, SOLINGEN, silver-plated brass for use by the SS prior to the design of unique swords for their own use. Most detail remains in excellent condition, the "ruby" eyes in place, some wear to the silver plating to the mane, cross-guard and hand guard showing that the sword has been worn.

The black silver wire bound grip is intact, the eagle and swastika on the cross-guard retain their original detail quite nicely.

The 34 in. blade is clean and very bright with no sign of oxidation. The scabbard is straight and free of dents with original black paint. Complete with the correct silver wire portapee with black SS runes above the bulb.

Overall, a fine sword and RARE.
