BRITISH Pre 1953 PARACHUTE REGIMENT Silver Plated Collar/Sweetheart Badge

A very nice example of this Parachute Regiment badge. I am certain that this is silver plated, and not white metal, as I can see very minor wear through to the base metal. I presume it is a sweetheart, association item, but could be collar badge?
